In this CLE, Justin Csik, Nicole Haiem and Sarah Herman will cover the essential legal aspects of non-profit entity formation and governance. The program will provide a brief overview of the non-profit organizational structure and its intended use and benefits, along with an introduction to the governance and policy documents necessary and advisable for a non-profit corporation to have in place, including a discussion regarding best practices. The program will also provide an overview of the process to apply for and obtain tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service and considerations for tax-exempt organizations. Finally, the program will review state law considerations and registration requirements for non-profit entities seeking to solicit charitable donations within a state, specifically focusing on Pennsylvania requirements.

This complimentary program will qualify for one substantive hour of PA CLE credit.
